In my view…
There’s nothing better than studying in the city! Particularly if your interest is beauty therapy, complementary therapies, media make-up and a range of associated disciplines.
Take a stroll on Park Row in Leeds, the heart of the city and as you walk, look at the beautiful architecture and the fascinating mix of old and contemporary buildings, within minutes you reach South Parade, the home of White Rose Leeds, located in the heart of the city’s financial district close to the buzzing ‘Capital of the North’.
The exciting and diverse curriculum is delivered across two large floors comprising of three large salons, one large media studio, theory room and large social area for students. The centre is fresh, bright and has a large open reception area. The accommodation benefits from good quality imagery and display materials. It is closely located to bus and train stations and is within walking distance of most amenities. The centre offers a range of courses from introductory level 2 beauty therapy through to higher level courses such as aesthetics and advanced skincare as well as a variety of nail technology, make up and complementary therapy programmes to suit every interest. The centre also offers commercial salon sessions which offer industry standard treatments at a highly reduced price enabling learners to showcase their outstanding skills and the public to benefit from professional standard treatments. The centre has fostered links with some of the industry’s most highly regarded employers such as Steiner and Ship to Shore, companies which share the vision of providing world class beauty therapists, and many learners have gone on to work in prestigious salons and spas, including on-board cruise spas allowing them to travel the world as they are working. No small surprise when one looks at the learners and their appearance, all decked out in pristine white with hair beautifully styled and light make-up worn, the learners are great ambassadors and are the future of beauty therapy.
In conversation the dynamic head of centre explains that over the next year the centre will be increasing its apprenticeship provision in line with the LEP priorities for the Leeds City Region. This will include intermediate, advanced and ground-breaking higher-level apprenticeship programmes. After consulting with high quality local employers, you can expect great things from the Leeds Centre over the next academic year. Their focus is ensuring our students are ‘work ready’ with current and relevant skills to set them apart from the crowd!
Their ambition is to make White Rose Beauty College – Leeds the only destination for high quality beauty, and its associated therapies, training provision in the greater Leeds area.
Don’t take my word for it! Check it out……. Whether you are a prospective student, a parent or carer or an employer, the team will greet you with a warm welcome.
